Christa

I met @charbabyy122 through Shutterfest a few years ago when we did a cosplay photoshoot. We’ve worked together several times over the years and these are a selection of photos from 2022 and 2023.

Let’s start with a set of fine art nude photos from 2022. These don’t have a specific theme other than creating shapes and interacting with the available space. The room was pretty run down and I was experimenting with a set of LED tube lights, so the resulting images feel sort of grungy and bleak. As always, I like directional light, shadows, and interaction with the walls, doors, and mirrors rather than “posing” for the camera.

Fast forward to our next shoot one year later, with a more deliberate goal to capture a blend of fine art and eroticism, with elements of submission revealed through light bondage and suggestive posing. The room was much smaller, so many of these photos are more close-up rather than full body. This close-up style also reflects my personal growth as a photographer and artist.

Extreme Closeup, 200mm f/2.8

Getting in close feels more intimate and in a sense, invasive. I cannot know what my subjects are feeling, but I know that on my end, as a photographer, it took a long time for me to feel comfortable taking close-up photos like you see here.

Speaking on a technical note, getting in close is essential if you want to maximize the benefits of using high-end camera lenses. That soft, blurry effect is called Bokeh, and you won’t see it nearly as much with photos taken from a distance.

Now, onto the rest of the set!

If you want to try something like this for your own private reasons, consider hiring me. When you hire me, your pictures are never shared publicly and you can explore whatever concepts you like.

If you’re comfortable signing a model release and are interested in working with me as a collaboration, head over to the modeling application.
